ŞUÂ
Şuâ is a fusion of the traditional Turkish Iznik çini tile and the Western stained glass window. Where stained glass originally belongs in the Gothic church, here it takes the form of the tile motif. Şuâ invites the viewer to see the world not as fixed, but as changing, shaped by light, time and perspective. Each pattern becomes a symbolic window: an opportunity to look again, to see differently.
In Islam, Şuâ represents divine light, not in the physical sense, but as a symbol of divine presence. In Gothic churches, the light that flows through stained glass also symbolizes the divine. The colored light transcends the material and brings a sense of mystery and sublimity to the space.
Like Şuâ in Islam, this light is not ordinary daylight, but a metaphor for holy presence and insight.
